The UHF13 is a High Gain (8-12db) UHF Antenna or Aerial specifically designed for reception of 'Digital Terrestrial' Freeview HD and is ideal for use with a Terrestrial/UHF Freeview HD Receiver.
- 13 Element Antenna (with balun)
- Pole Mount 555mm high
- Mounting Bracket (with mounting screws)
This antenna comes with a pre-fitted balun, suitable for 'Digital Terrestrial' Freeview HD signal. The balun is the box mounted on the antenna with an F Connector, where your coax cable will connect to.
If you are purchasing this as a replacement antenna:
Please be aware that you will need to have an F Connector on your existing coax cable in order to connect to this antenna - the antenna does not have screw connectors like some older antennas because these are not suitable for digital signals. Freeview HD via a UHF antenna requires very good coax cable and connections. The minimum is RG6 coax cable.
If your coax cable is older, you may need a new cable to connect to this antenna here.
If you are purchasing this as a new antenna:
You can also purchase this antenna is a pack that includes the coax cable here.
High Signal Areas.
The UHF13 is suitable for areas with medium to low signal, though allows for use in high signal areas close to a transmitter. If you wish to use the UHF13 in a high signal area, simply remove the front half of the Aerial. The UHF13 comes in two halves which bolt together, this makes packaging easier and serves a dual purpose. By removing the front half, you lower the gain or amplification of the Aerial, making it suitable for use in high signal areas.
